Hospice Volunteer

Home Health Care Professionals & Hospice is seeking compassionate and caring persons who would like to serve as volunteers with our hospice patients.  Volunteers would spend 2-4 hours weekly with patients and or their families.  Opportunities include:  reading to a patient, providing companionship and talking about their interests, providing respite for an overwhelmed caregiver, gardening.  The opportunities are many and depend on patient needs and your own interests.  Comprehensive training is provided, and you would have the support of the Volunteer Coordinator.  Many hospice patients and their families experience feelings of isolation and to have the additional support while making this journey towards the patients final days, would serve to encourage and lift their spirits.  If you believe you have a calling and the inner resources for serving as hospice volunteer, and would like more information, call HHCP at 570.876.2900 and we can talk more about it.
