A day in the life at the Community Living Arrangement

Working in the CLA will give you the opportunity to do lots of different things. Primarily, you’ll be responsible for assisting residential consumers in becoming fully included in the community, enhancing their self-image and skills development, and maximizing their independence in life. If you have a question or need some help, you’ll be surrounded by helpful, friendly coworkers who are ready to jump in and assist. Our open-door policy ensures that you can get access to the person who has the information or knowledge that you need to get the job done for the individuals we serve and support.

What you need to be qualified for this job

To be qualified for this job, you’ve got to have a positive and caring attitude. Experience in the field is a great start, though not required as we will train you. Candidates must be reliable and should be able to demonstrate a pattern of successful time and attendance. In addition, candidates must have a valid state-issued driver’s license, a High School Diploma or equivalent, an ability to work in a drug-free workplace setting, along with the successful completion of required background screenings, and have reached the minimum age of 18.

Work Schedule

The CLA’s are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year-so we can generally work around many different schedules or shift preferences. Full-time, Part-time and substitute shifts are available, all in or within a 15-mile radius of Scranton, PA.
