Vocational Specialist

Scranton Counseling Center, the area's largest fully integrated behavioral health provider has an opening for a Vocational Specialist.

The Vocational Specialist provides counseling rehabilitation services in the consumer’s community as part of our ACT Team. Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is a consumer-centered, recovery-oriented mental health Service Delivery Model. ACT Teams are an evidence-based treatment model that facilitate community living, psycho-social rehabilitation and recovery for individuals with the most serious mental illnesses and impairments who have not benefited from traditional outpatient programs.

The position requires a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, rehabilitation counseling, or another directly related field.

Duties include, but are not limited to, engaging consumers in vocational assessment, job development, placement, and job coaching. Provision of housing assistance, assessment, and development of appropriate residential alternatives for safe, secure, living arrangements. Function as a member of a multidisciplinary ACT team, assisting in developing, reviewing, revising, and executing treatment plans. Maintain clinical records and documentation in electronic health record.

Position requires a flexible schedule including evening/weekend rotation.
