ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:

The position of the Enrollment Counselor is to generate enrollment for all College programs, conduct educational advising, participate in recruiting activities and continually strive to meet enrollment projections. This position is responsible for recruiting in designated areas within the assigned territory and for establishing relationships with high school guidance counselors and teachers. Some regional and overnight travel is required to regions deemed appropriate for recruitment purposes.

This position is also responsible for planning, coordinating, executing the College’s recruiting and enrollment events; as well as assisting with the promotion of such events and activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Recruits students from all designated territories for all academic programs. 
  2. Travels as required to meet, coordinate and recruit with schools in assigned recruiting area. 
  3. Attend college fairs, school visits, and open house events as required.
  4. Conducts individual and group career/admissions interviews.
  5. Prepares and disseminates weekly progress reports.
  6. Serves as liaison between the College, potential students, high school counselors, and business and industry points of contact.
  7. Identifies new and/or changing markets.
  8. Provides feedback pertaining to educational and extracurricular needs of Lackawanna College students.
  9. Assists in attrition reduction activities such as Retention Intervention.
  10. Supports the planning, coordination and implementation of enrollment recruitment initiatives through on and off-campus events.
    1. Coordinates with college partners for marketing their approved marketing materials such as posters, Open House posters, FAFSA posters, fliers, brochures, etc.
    2. Prepares and delivers presentations to prospective students that focus on acquiring inquiries for programs offered at the campus.
  11. Answers assigned inquiry calls from prospective students; schedules prospective students for campus appointments, follows up on all inquiries who fail to schedule or show for an appointment; makes specific amount of outgoing calls per day as determined by the supervisor.
  12. Proactively converses with or interviews prospective students to gain clear understanding of their needs and goals; advises accordingly; includes parent(s) and support committee in the interview process as needed.
  13. Reviews Financial Aid Cost Calculation with prospective students prior to financial aid introduction. Introduces prospective students (and family when applicable) to the financial aid officer and assists financial aid to ensure that the FAFSA and financial aid is complete.
  14. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION:

- Associate Degree in Education, Business, Marketing, or related fields required.

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

- 3 to 5 years’ experience in recruiting, sales or other related fields preferred.
