ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:

The Curriculum/Educator Coordinator works under the guidance of the Program Director to research, develop, and/or revise specific curriculum materials and to deliver instruction in a variety of settings, including CTC partners, throughout the academic year and summer. They will also be responsible for delivering content-specific workshops designed to engage high school students in the PNG industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Works in collaboration with the Program Director to plan, develop, organize and/or revise courses.
  2. Delivers instruction at partnering CTCs across our region.

3. Teaches PNG courses using up to date and relevant methods with a strong outcomes based teaching model. 

  1. Creates and delivers workshop content aimed at engaging high school students with the PNG industry.
  2. Ensures all courses and course components are student-centered, with the intended learning outcomes.
  3. Reviews curriculum and teaching materials for completeness, accuracy and currency.
  4. Participates in evaluating program and curriculum quality and effectiveness to ensure continuous quality improvement.

8. Manages PNG Simulation Lab appointments.

9. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

1. Competencies in Windows Office 2010 Software and capability for additional software introduction from industry in lab.

2. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and oversight.

3. Ability to design and structure teaching plan for assigned course instruction that accomplished that class objectives.

4. Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

5. Excellent communication skills, specifically writing skills. Ability to relate and communicate to students and to explain technical issues clearly and in understandable terms. 

6. Good interpersonal skills with students and faculty alike.

7. Knowledge of college curricula, assessment, and academic policies and procedures.

EDUCATION:

- Associate’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum technology or similar discipline required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience in higher education preferred.
  • Specific training and/or experience with Petroleum & Natural Gas production, transportation, and/or distribution required.
