Accountant

NET Credit Union is looking for a highly motivated and adaptable accountant to join our fast-paced Accounting Team, who can not only manage day-to-day accounting tasks but also actively contribute to strategic financial analysis and process improvement initiatives utilizing their strong analytical skills to identify opportunities for optimization.

The successful candidate should have two to four years of accounting experience as well as a proficiency in Excel and a two or four-year college degree or equivalent experience.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Analyze and reconcile daily and monthly general ledgers for various accounts as assigned
• Perform specialized and/or confidential accounting duties, including researching data and preparing reports as needed
• Enter data into accounting system and generate reports on a daily basis
• Reconcile daily cash balances, research any open items like cash imbalances and variances and ensure items clear in a timely manner.  Responsible for resolving any discrepancies when necessary
• Ensure corporate checks, ACH and credit cards are reconciled daily
• Process accounts payable through the entire cycle, from adding new vendors, inputting invoices to applicable expense accounts, receiving approval and paying each invoice via ACH or check
• Ensure month-end cash and general ledger accounts reconcile by preparing end-of-month journal entries, assist in month end reconcilements and ensure all are complete and accurate
• Assist in financial statement preparation, financial analysis and cost cutting initiatives
• Participate in quarterly ALCO meetings
• Assist in the investment posting process. Familiarity with bond accounting a plus
• Work with auditors and examiners as needed
• Gather information to assist accounting department in various projects
• Collaborate with external accounts payable vendors, as needed, and other departments in the credit union to ensure smooth general ledger balancing
• Other duties as requested by management
