ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:

The Assistant Esports Program Coordinator supports the operations, development, and promotion of the College’s Esports program under the direct supervision of the Esports Program Coordinator. This position provides assistance in recruiting student-athletes, managing team activities, coordinating events, and supporting compliance and outreach initiatives. The Assistant Coordinator will contribute to student engagement and help execute the strategic goals set by the Esports Program Coordinator.

 

Essential Functions:

Assist the Esports Program Coordinator in executing day-to-day activities of the College’s Esports teams, including practice logistics, scheduling, and student communications.

  1. Provide administrative and operational support for Esports competitions, scrimmages, and special events.
  2. Help facilitate Esports programming held in the College's performance venues, including setup, technical support, and basic event coordination.
  3. Support the recruitment process by helping maintain contact with prospective student-athletes, organizing recruiting materials, and attending events as needed.
  4. Aid in the training and onboarding of student-athletes under the guidance of coaching staff and the Program Coordinator.
  1. Assist with monitoring eligibility and academic progress of Esports student-athletes in collaboration with academic advisors and the Coordinator.
  2. Support documentation efforts related to Esports compliance with relevant collegiate organizations (e.g., NACE, CLOL, TESPA).
  1. Contribute to the promotion of Esports events and accomplishments via social media, Twitch streaming, and other platforms.
  2. Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing content that reflects the goals and branding of the College’s Esports program.
  3. Represent the program at select recruitment and community outreach events in collaboration with the Program Coordinator.
  1. Maintain records of team activities, participant lists, and basic inventory under the direction of the Esports Program Coordinator.
  2. Provide weekly updates and reports as assigned.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned by the Esports Program Coordinator or Athletics Department.

Key Competencies:

  • Foundational understanding of Esports titles (e.g., Rocket League, Valorant, League of Legends) and the competitive gaming landscape
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take direction
  • Basic knowledge of digital platforms (Twitch, Discord, OBS)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed

 

Education:

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Previous involvement in competitive gaming, club management, student affairs, or athletics preferred.
  • Prior experience in an assistant or support role a plus.
