Director of the Innovation, Design, Education, and Application Center

The Director of the IDEA Center leads its development, operation, and strategic direction, fostering its use by the university and regional community. Reporting to the Dean of the Library within Academic Affairs, the Director oversees programs, partnerships, and initiatives that support project-based learning, industry collaboration, and community engagement. The Director integrates the Center into academic programming, supports grant-funded and community projects, and will grow the IDEA Center into a community hub for applied learning and innovation. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as required. For full job description, please visit our employment site.  

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required

A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in one of the following areas: program management, innovation initiatives, educational programming, entrepreneurial incubators, community engagement activities, or equivalent enterprises.

Experience operating desktop fabrication software (e.g., CAD or CAM) and equipment like 3D Printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines. The successful candidate does not need to have experience operating all fabrication equipment, but should have experience with at least one.
