Qualifications

• Successful applicants will have prior experience in a shelter or drop-in program, or behavioral or substance abuse treatment programs, be familiar with harm reduction and motivational interviewing, and be comfortable with electronic record keeping
• Drivers License required

Responsibilities

• Applicants must be able to work a 37.5 hours a week schedule between the hours of 8am-6pm including some weekends and holidays.
• Support Staff works with other program staff to complete tasks required for Day Room, Safe Haven and Permanent Supportive Housing Programs.
• Providing transportation for client appointments and donation pick ups.

Job description

The Community Intervention Center serves adults experiencing homelessness or living with a mental illness or a co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder is recruiting for a full time Support Staff.

This is an excellent position for individuals interested in working with underserved client populations and who want to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. Responsibilities include basic needs assessment and referrals to shelter services, primary and behavioral health care, and employment programs. Support Staff may also help program participants with applications for government entitlement programs. Support Staff works alongside other program staff to maintain a safe and peaceful environment in the program at all times.

Successful applicants will have prior experience in a shelter or drop-in program, be familiar with harm reduction, trauma informed care and motivational interviewing, and possess basic computer skills.
