Assistant Director for Graduate Admissions

The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions plays a pivotal role in supporting the enrollment goals of the University’s graduate programs through data-driven recruitment strategies, prospective student engagement, and oversight of application system integrity. Reporting to the Director of Graduate & International Admissions, this position manages key aspects of the graduate admissions process, maintains critical admissions data, and actively participates in the recruitment and conversion of prospective students.

Essential Duties:

Graduate Recruitment
    • Serve as a key recruiter for assigned graduate programs, managing the full admissions funnel from inquiry to enrollment.
    • Represent the University at graduate fairs, virtual info sessions, webinars, and corporate/organizational outreach events.
    • Build and nurture relationships with prospective students, program faculty, alumni, and external partners to increase graduate enrollment.
    • Identify target populations and prospective student pipelines through data analysis, lead segmentation, and territory research.
    • Collaborate with the Director and Graduate Program Directors to set enrollment targets and develop customized recruitment plans by program.

 


Prospective Student Engagement
  • Design and execute high-touch communication and engagement strategies tailored to adult learners and working professionals.
  • Manage a robust follow-up process with inquiries and applicants to improve responsiveness, application completion, and yield.
  • Support the planning and delivery of graduate admissions events, including open houses, webinars, and admitted student events.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of graduate programs to effectively communicate academic offerings, admission requirements, deadlines, and career outcomes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and one-on-one guidance to prospective students throughout the admissions process.
 
Data Management & Systems Integrity
  • Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of data within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Student Information System (SIS) platforms (e.g., Slate, Ellucian).
  • Conduct regular data audits to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of application materials, decision codes, and student records.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Enrollment Operations to identify and resolve data issues, streamline workflows, and enhance system functionality.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports to monitor inquiry-to-enrollment activity, campaign effectiveness, and pipeline performance.
  • Assist with system testing and documentation when implementing new features, rules, or processes in the CRM.
  • Support the development of automated communication plans, forms, and workflows within the CRM to improve efficiency and engagement.

Collaboration & Support
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure accurate and compelling content for emails, digital campaigns, and web pages.
  • Work closely with Financial Aid, Registrar, and other campus offices to support a seamless admissions and enrollment experience.
  • Serve as a resource for graduate program faculty and administrative support staff on admissions-related inquiries and system navigation.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current on graduate education trends and best practices.

 

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree required

- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in admissions, enrollment management or a related field, preferably in graduate education
