Aspen Meadows Pet Aquamation & Memorial Services is seeking a licensed, compassionate veterinarian to collaborate with our team in providing in-home euthanasia services at our facility. This role focuses on delivering ethical, professional end-of-life care while supporting families through a respectful and dignified process.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent animal handling skills, and a commitment to minimizing patient stress and supporting families during end-of-life decision-making. As a collaborating partner within our care team, the veterinarian will help ensure a peaceful experience for both pets and their families. Duties

  • Conduct in-home euthanasia procedures with sensitivity, professionalism, and compassion, ensuring a peaceful environment for pets and their families
  • Administer medications, including anesthetics and euthanasia solutions, following aseptic techniques and veterinary best practices
  • Handle animals safely using restraint techniques suitable for various species and temperaments, including dogs, cats, and other small animals
  • Provide guidance and emotional support to pet owners before, during, and after the procedure to ensure understanding and comfort
  • Maintain detailed medical records of each case, including procedures performed, medications administered, and observations made
  • Collaborate closely with pet owners, veterinary colleagues, and support staff to ensure seamless service delivery and uphold high standards of animal care

Requirements

  • Valid veterinary license in good standing with relevant licensing authorities
  • Proven veterinary critical care experience with animals requiring specialized handling or procedures
  • Strong animal restraint skills across different species and temperaments
  • Extensive veterinary experience with knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry practices
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques, laboratory procedures, and catheterization methods for safe medication administration
  • Experience with pet grooming or animal husbandry is a plus to enhance overall animal comfort during procedures
  • Ability to handle dogs confidently using proper dog handling techniques; experience with equine or larger animals is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Excellent communication skills to support pet owners emotionally while providing clear explanations about procedures and aftercare
