The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce is seeking a professional and dependable Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for visitors, members, and guests while supporting daily office operations.

This is a part-time, in-office role offering a consistent schedule and the opportunity to be part of a collaborative team focused on supporting business growth in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

 

Schedule
Monday – Friday
8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (25 hours per week)

 

About the Role
In this position, you will provide front desk coverage, assist with office operations, and support administrative needs across departments. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming and organized environment that allows staff to focus on their core work.

 

Key Responsibilities

Front Desk & Reception

  • Greet and direct visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Answer and route incoming calls
  • Monitor and respond to general email inquiries
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area
  • Assist with conference room scheduling and meeting setup

Office Operations

  • Manage office, beverage, and kitchen supply inventory and ordering
  • Monitor supply levels and coordinate restocking
  • Organize storage areas and coordinate deliveries
  • Assist with basic tracking of supply expenses
  • Support building access coordination

Administrative Support

  • Provide data entry and filing support
  • Process incoming paperwork and payments as directed
  • Assist with light administrative tasks across departments
  • Support special projects as assigned

 

What Success Looks Like

  • Front desk is consistently staffed and responsive
  • Visitors and callers receive a positive, professional experience
  • Office supplies and shared spaces are well-maintained
  • Staff interruptions are minimized, improving overall efficiency

 

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma required
  • Associate degree or administrative coursework preferred

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in reception, office administration, or customer-facing roles required

Skills

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organized and dependable
  • Comfortable multitasking in a busy office environment
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Word, and Excel

 

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift light office supplies as needed
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

 

Work Environment
This is a fully in-office position located in downtown Scranton, PA.
