RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing analytical services relating to the lending activities of the institution; analyzing financial statements and other relevant data and making recommendations with respect to credit worthiness. Assist with reviewing appraisals.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, ETC.
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other related field, or a high school diploma with a minimum of three (3) years accounting related experience, must possess strong analytical skills, organized work habits and good interpersonal and communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
In addition to conducting business in an office environment, the Credit Analyst must be able to reach, pull, lift and carry.
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Conduct credit investigations and analyze credit information pertaining to loans;
- Investigate all available sources of credit and financial information;
- Analyze financial statements and related material;
- Prepare presentations for loan committee and/or Board of Directors;
- Prepare various reports for commercial lenders as needed;
- Ensure current financial statements are received in a timely manner.
- Order and review appraisals, and authorize payment;
- Make recommendations to your supervisor regarding adding and removing appraisers;
- Assist with gathering relevant financial information from various sources pertaining to a loan request;
- Make recommendations to supervisor regarding revisions to the Loan Policy;
- Ensure that the procedure manual for the department is kept current;
- Make recommendations to supervisor about possible methods to improve the department;
- Participate in community affairs to increase the bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities;
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed.
