Position Summary

The Senior Equipment Engineer applies engineering expertise to improve and maintain complex critical systems and equipment utilized in the production of HCT/P and medical device products. This role focuses on strategic projects that improve equipment safety, process efficiency, manufacturing effectiveness, and scalability. The Senior Equipment Engineer serves as a technical liaison between Process Engineering, R&D, and Processing Operations while mentoring junior engineers and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and implement new equipment and manufacturing methods.
  • Improve equipment safety, product quality, process efficiency, and yield while reducing costs.
  • Collaborate with Design Services, Engineering Services, Operations, and external engineering partners.
  • Develop and recommend strategies to modernize manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to support investigations, productivity improvements, and cost reduction efforts.
  • Install, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize processing equipment.
  • Generate validation protocols, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to equipment, employee safety, product safety, and environmental impact.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Design equipment layouts and workflow improvements to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Develop operating procedures, maintenance instructions, cleaning procedures, and training materials.
  • Present technical findings, project updates, and recommendations to management.
  • Support troubleshooting activities for processing equipment and manufacturing systems.
  • Estimate future manufacturing requirements and perform capacity analyses.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior equipment engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
