The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and performing basic direct patient care activities within Student Health Services.

Essential Duties:
- Schedule initial and follow-up appointments and answer questions via phone, in person, and email
- Assist with patient check-in, guiding students to complete necessary paperwork and to access their Student Health Portal
- Prepare patients for examinations (including vital signs, allergies, current medications, take medical history)
- Assist providers in setting up minor procedures, gathering supplies and equipment, applying aseptic dressings, opening supplies, etc.
- Collect and prepare lab specimens and complete associated paperwork, forms, and documentation to expedite laboratory studies with accuracy and efficiency
- Create, update, and maintain patient medical records
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
- Perform clinical procedures, such as venipuncture for blood collection, administration of immunizations (e.g., influenza vaccines), and placement and reading of tuberculosis (TB) skin tests in accordance with established protocols and safety standards
- Assist with verifying immunization compliance and answering questions related to required health information for incoming students

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program and current CMA certification required
- Requires prior experience as a certified medical assistant
*This is a part-time position scheduled for up to 25 hours per week, 10 months out of each year. We offer a flexible work schedule, with days and hours determined in collaboration with the successful candidate and department needs.
