About Us

Schwass Counseling & Consultation provides individual, couples, family, and child counseling, along with career coaching, clinical supervision, and workshops for the Scranton/Northeastern Pennsylvania community. We're growing our clinical team and looking for a compassionate, skilled therapist to join us.

Position Summary

We're seeking a licensed mental health clinician to provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy to a diverse client caseload. We welcome candidates at any of the following licensure levels:

  • LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor
  • LAPC – Licensed Associate Professional Counselor
  • LSW – Licensed Social Worker
  • LCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Clinicians working under an associate-level license (LAPC/LSW) will receive regular clinical supervision toward full licensure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based individual, couples, and/or family therapy sessions in-person and/or via telehealth
  • Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with state and ethical standards
  • Coordinate care with referring physicians, psychiatrists, and other providers as needed
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision and/or peer consultation
  • Maintain a caseload consistent with full-time or part-time status as agreed upon
  • Uphold client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and all applicable licensing board regulations
  • Participate in occasional practice workshops, trainings, or community outreach as available

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field
  • Active, unrestricted license (or associate license under supervision) in Pennsylvania: LPC, LAPC, LSW, or LCSW
  • Experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, families, or children (specify preferred population if applicable)
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
  • Comfortable with telehealth platforms and electronic health records
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to ethical practice and ongoing professional development

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or relationship counseling
  • Bilingual candidates
  • Experience or interest in clinical supervision, career coaching, or workshop facilitation
