DESCRIPTION

As Project Engineer Manager, you will be instrumental in managing and mentoring our team of Project Engineers, Project Coordinators, and Virtual Design Construction Specialists from inception to completion of our construction projects. You will be an integral part of the team that ensures that clients’ expectations are exceeded and all contractual requirements are met. You will ensure that high-quality projects are delivered that meet quality standards by identifying and mitigating deficiencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure continuous flow of technical documentation compliance with company policies, procedures and project requirements.
  • Ensure procurement of all critical and long lead major building components and equipment.
  • Responsible for ensuring L.R. Costanzo’s Quality Control Program is adhered to on all projects.
  • Manage the Virtual Design Construction process for both the preconstruction and construction phases of the project.
  • Attend regular periodic site visits with Project Engineers to review all aspects of the project under this position.
  • Attend project meetings as necessary to collect and disseminate information pertaining to each project.
  • Attend career fairs to attract talent for potential employees and interns.
  • Provide training and oversight of all new hire Project Engineers, Project Coordinators, and Virtual Design Construction Specialists.
  • Support in developing, updating, and implementing department policies and procedures.
  • Administer the Project Manager Software including all training and support.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to read and interpret contractual documentation including 3D models.
  • Able to read and understand at an advanced level Civil, Structural, and Architectural system drawings and design, including an understanding of how these systems work.
  • Able to read and understand MEP/FP system drawings and design, including an understanding of how these systems work.
  • Understand and evaluate project schedules as they apply to submittals, procurement, preinstallation requirements and project closeout timeframes.
  • Mathematical skill for calculating dimensions and quantity take-offs.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office 365, construction management software and databases, portable document formatting (.pdf), and BIM software.
  • Strong verbal and written abilities for construction communication with design professionals and field personnel.
  • Possess soft skills such as working with a wide range of people and personalities, customer relations, flexibility, problem solving, organization, and planning skills.
  • Experience and ability in delivering presentations.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a construction- or design-related field plus 5 years of relevant experience, or 10 years of relevant experience.
