The President/CEO is responsible for the development and successful operation of all programs and services provided by Telespond Senior Services, Inc., d/b/a Senior Day Services. The President/CEO is responsible for the supervision of all agency personnel, and is ultimately responsible for all activities carried out to meet the objectives of the agency.
The President/CEO works to achieve the following objectives:
Provide input at meetings conducted by the agency's Board of Directors, and furnish the membership thereof with all information required to effectively develop policies and procedures which govern the general operations of the agency.
Implement all Board approved policies and procedures, while also assuring that agency operations are consistent with laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by entities such as funding sources and government agencies.
Promote a positive and cooperative relationship between the Board of Directors and staff, the agency and the community, and also nurture good working relationships with other local agencies and organizations.
Hire all staff, or delegate this task to program supervisors as appropriate, with all new hires subject to final approval.
Develop employment and human resources related practices which are consistent with labor laws, as well as Board established policies, and facilitate pre-service as well as on-going in-service training as appropriate.
Provide for good employee relations, execute performance reviews in an objective manner, and nurture staff participation in the decision making process, wherever possible.
Develop programs and services which are consistent with the agency's mission statement.
Secure funding to initiate and sustain services, as well as finances which are necessary for building and other property related items.
Establish responsible grants management practices, and assure that program operations are consistent with sponsor guidelines and conditions for grant awards.
Develop an annual agency operating budget, as well as individual program budgets for prospective funding sources, effect revisions as necessary, and monitor service utilization relative to projective revenue estimates, reporting all such information to the Board of Directors for approval.
Establish effective marketing and public relations standards and procedures, and develop materials for the media and public which reflect the agency's mission and its funding sponsors, where appropriate.
Promote Telespond, and develop contacts which benefit the organization by way of representation at community events and inter-agency functions.
Assure that agency facilities and equipment are properly maintained, and that program operations are readily accessible for clients, staff, and the general public.
Keep informed on topics and issues affecting older adults and their caregivers.
Formulate correspondence and other forms of written communication, as well as materials to be utilized for oral presentations.
Problem solving and conflict resolution.
Master's Degree in Health Care Management or Administration, Human Services Administration, or an equivalent
combination of education and experience in some area of human services or fiscal management.
Leadership and supervisory abilities.
Demonstrates the capacity to manage people and resources.
Possess grant writing and budgeting experience.
Familiarity with the human service network, particularly the entities which assist older adults and their family caregivers.
Demonstrate an awareness of the situation of our elderly, including knowledge of their problems, needs, and the role of the family in long term care arrangements.
Experience in program development and implementation.
Communication skills, including the ability to develop correspondence and other written materials.
Demonstrates a sincere concern, and ability to advocate for the wellbeing of the older adult population.
