ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:

The Director of Enrollment leads a results-oriented team to manage all strategic recruitment initiatives at the main campus in Scranton, PA. In collaboration with administrators, and staff, the Director develops and implements a comprehensive and aggressive recruitment plan to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse pool of students.

The Director of Enrollment will assist the Director of Center Operations in providing leadership and guidance with activities related to recruitment, enrollment, and general operations at the College’s regional satellite locations.

The Director also works with the academic departments and the marketing department to develop effective recruitment materials for the undergraduate programs, and will develop a strategic plan to generate inquiries and applications.

The Director manages and supports the Enrollment department staff and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees in those positions.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  1. Manages all aspects of recruitment and enrollment for freshmen, transfers, re-enrolls, part-time, and international students at the main campus in Scranton, PA.
  2. Works with the Director of Center Operations and Director of Marketing to set and meet enrollment goals.
  3. Oversees the enrollment for the college’s shortened summer and winter sessions which includes a large amount of temporary students looking to transfer credits to their current institution. 
  4. Build a recruitment plan targeted for specialty programs consisting of majors requiring higher academic proficiency.
  5. Serve as liaison between the College, potential students, high school counselors, and business and industry points of contact,
  6. Provides regular enrollment funnel reports, including but not limited to, analysis by high school and program.
  7. Provides leadership to admissions staff in reaching strategic and enrollment goals. Leads and oversees the development of a territory management plan with each advisor.
  8. Hires, supervises, and evaluates department professional and administrative staff.
  9. Oversees daily operations of the unit, including prospect identification, recruitment, relationship development, application evaluation, conversion and processing.
  10. Collaborates with the marketing team to assist in the development and implementation of strategic marketing programs.
  11.  Manages JRM technology and data analysis to create, enhance, and measure the recruitment, admission and conversion of undergraduate students. Uses same data to monitor ROI of each strategy and tactic.
  12. Reviews and develops policies and procedures to ensure maximum effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of enrollment processes.
  13. Oversees event planning, development, and execution. Oversees development of a written plan for each event, monitors the execution of that plan, and measures the effectiveness of each event. Provides recommendations for continuous improvement of these events.
  14. Develops and manages the department budget.
  15. Stays informed about developments in higher education and implements best practices, methods, and systems.
  16. Identifies and implements technology tools to increase efficiency and enhance communications with prospects and applicants.
  17. Works in collaboration with the Director of Student Financial Services to administer scholarship programs.
  18. Works with a diverse population of prospective students and families, students, employees, and guests.
  19. Participates in the institutional strategic planning process.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business, Marketing or related field required.
  • Master’s Degree in Management, Business, Marketing, or related fields preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience as a Director of Admissions or Enrollment Management in Higher Ed required.
  • International student experience preferred.
  • Experience building a recruitment plan to fill cohorts of programmatic enrollment.
  • Proven track record of success in undergraduate/graduate recruitment.
  • Experience in identifying and defining institutional challenges.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a non-traditional educational setting is preferred.
